St. Chad’s Church in Patchway is looking for a Community Engagement and Fundraising Volunteer to assist them in the planning, organisation and delivery of community fundraising events, grant applications and online fundraising campaignsIdeally volunteer applicants will have previous experience or an interest in developing professional skills in fundraising. 

Number of roles available: 1-2 

Weekly hours: Flexible dependent on volunteer availability and whether 1 or 2 volunteers are recruited 

Location: St Chads Church, 172 Rodway Rd, Patchway, Bristol BS34 5ED 

 

What you’ll be doing 

  • Work with members of church staff to plan and organise community focused fundraising events   

  • Helping to run community fundraising events including furniture set up, welcoming attendees and delivering activities. 

  • Assist church staff with grant applications to support community engagement initiatives 

  • Collaborating with the Social Media Volunteer to run online fundraising campaigns. If you are also interested in the Social Media Volunteers role and would like to do both, this can be discussed during your volunteer interview,  

 

Skills we’re looking for 

  • IT proficiency to carry out computer-based work such as grant applications and online fundraising campaigns 

  • Good organisation and numerical skills for planning and working with budgets 

  • The ability to collaborate with others and positively engage with members of the local community 

  • Previous experience or an interest in developing professional skills in fundraising

  • Regular check-ins to ensure you’re enjoying and feel supported in your role 

  • Invitations to participate in community events including a chance to celebrate you and other volunteers’ achievements during volunteers’ week 

 

Please note: This volunteering role will take place in a church. There will be prayers and/or Christian conversations, but you and other volunteers would not be expected to participate. Being sympathetic towards the Christian values of these activities would be necessary, but it is not required that volunteers are Christians themselves.
