Are you looking for work experience in social media and marketingSt. Chad's church in Patchway has an exciting opportunity for a volunteer to market church events and activities via their existing website and Facebook page and launch the church’s social media channels across additional platforms. Previous work experience is not required, but social media literacy is necessary for the role. Volunteering hours and days are flexible. 

Number of roles available: 1 

Weekly hours: 1 day per week/Variable- this can be discussed at the volunteer interview 

Location: Hybrid (online and on site: St Chads Church, 172 Rodway Rd, Patchway, Bristol BS34 5ED) 

 

What you’ll be doing 

  • Keeping the church’s website up to date  

  • Creating digital posters to advertise regular groups and one-off events  

  • Launching the church’s social media channels across additional platforms 

  • Capturing church groups, and activities and events to post on social media 

 

Skills we’re looking for 

  • Confidence using digital platforms and social media channels 

  • Good written and verbal communication skills, or an interest in boosting your communication skills 

  • An enthusiasm for community engagement and events

  • Training and onboarding support when you first start volunteering 

  • Regular check-ins to ensure you’re enjoying and feel supported in your role 

  • Invitations to participate in community events including a chance to celebrate you and other volunteers’ achievements during volunteers’ week 

 

Please note: This volunteering role will take place in a church. There will be prayers and/or Christian conversations, but you and other volunteers would not be expected to participate. Being sympathetic towards the Christian values of these activities would be necessary, but it is not required that volunteers are Christians themselves.
