Adding your first activity:

Can Do Bristol allows you to add a range of 'activities' that allow you to ask for help and promote things that are important to you. On the site you can:

Post your volunteering opportunities to promote your volunteer roles, get notifications when new people volunteer to your opportunity, message potential volunteers and log hours completed.

You can choose to link to your own volunteering form for those interested to fill in, or just let them get in touch with a simple message.

To get started simply click "add activities" after clicking on your name in the top right hand corner, or use the links below.

Want to gather ideas from the community to answer a complex question or get help trying to tackle a local challenge?

You can ask for ideas and comments from members and get others to vote and respond to all the suggestions. If people really like an idea they can endorse it. At the end of the process, you'll have a range of great ideas that have been voted on and ranked, hopefully with people keen to help turn the idea into reality.

To get started simply click "add activities" after clicking on your name in the top right hand corner, or use the links below.

We are working on a timebank feature which will allow members to exchange time with each other in return for credits. People can offer their skills or request skills, each hour given is worth a credit that credit can then be exchanged for another person's time or donated.

We are just working on the terms of use and the process for protecting members who wish to exchange time with others. Watch this space!

To add any new activity:

  • Make sure you are signed in.
  • Select 'Add an activity' (top right on a larger screen).

Troubleshooting and useful links

We've included some common issues below with tips. If you can't find what you need please get in touch with one of the team.

“Sorry there was a problem with trying to reset your password. Please contact your community manager.”

If you see this message it means the system hasn’t recognised your email. Here are a few reasons why this might happen and how to get around them:

  1. You mis-typed your email or used the wrong email.
Double check the latest email from the website and make sure you have added the right email address. Then double check the spelling.

  2. You signed up with your social account (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin or Google+).
If you signed up with any of these accounts you’ll need to sign in with your username. If you have forgotten your username or aren’t sure, please email support@madeopen.co.uk with your name.

Make sure you check your junk and spam folders.

Some email clients take longer to receive some emails, most emails should only take a few minutes but some have been known to not appear for as long as 20 minutes.

Emails will appear from Can Do Bristol but emails will be sent from support@madeopen.co.uk, trying adding support@madeopen.co.uk to your 'safe senders list'. This post provides instructions: https://simplyfixit.co.uk/email-safe-sender-list/

If you taken all these steps and still have no luck please get in touch with one of the team who can help.
