Volunteer Sponsorship Advisor

Help us build strong partnerships for Bristol Jazz Festival 2026

Advisory volunteer role | 2–3 hours per week | Remote & flexible | Expenses paid
Ideal start: As soon as possible | Festival dates: 17–19 April 2026

Are you a strategic thinker with experience in sponsorship or business partnerships?
Would you like to support one of Bristol’s most vibrant cultural festivals, without taking on a big time commitment?

We are  looking for an experienced Sponsorship Advisor to guide our volunteer team as we build support for Bristol Jazz Festival 2026. Your role will be to help us shape and refine our campaign, so that we can connect more effectively with local businesses and community partners.

This is a light-touch, high-impact role for someone who enjoys mentoring, advising and helping others succeed. You’ll offer expert input on our sponsorship approach, materials and messaging, so that the team can implement your recommendations with confidence.

What is Bristol Jazz Festival?

Bristol Jazz Festival is a small charity that promotes and celebrates live music, creativity, participation and community involvement in Bristol and the surrounding region. We provide voulunteering and work experience opportunities for young people as well as local and national musicians. Our 2026 theme is:

Be Present. Be Real. Be Loud. Be Late. Be Close. Be Here. Be Part of It.
Be Bristol Jazz Festival 2026. Be a Partner.

We’re aiming to raise £30,000 in combined cash and in-kind support to deliver the Festival in April 2026 and to develop lasting relationships with local partners.

What does the role involve?

  • Advising on the structure, focus and timing of our sponsorship campaign
  • Reviewing our existing materials, assets and offers
  • Helping us improve messaging to appeal to Bristol-based businesses and supporters
  • Offering light-touch support to our Artistic & Production Director and volunteer team
  • Helping build team confidence and focus in approaching sponsors
  • Committing around 2–3 hours per week, remotely and flexibly

Who are we looking for?

  • You could be
    • A marketing, sponsorship or comms professional with charity, arts or events experience
    • A business development advisor or corporate partnerships lead
    • Recently retired or between roles, looking to give back and stay connected
    • Someone who enjoys mentoring others and sharing your expertise in a practical way
    • Based in Bristol or with strong local knowledge (ideal but not essential)

What can we offer you?

  • A flexible, purposeful opportunity with a friendly and creative team
  • A chance to help shape one of Bristol’s most loved cultural events
  • Access to existing materials, contacts and campaign ideas
  • Support from the Artistic Director, the Festival team and trustees
  • All reasonable expenses covered
  • The satisfaction of seeing your guidance put into action
