We run over 50 charity shops across the greater Bristol area, raising vital funds for patient care through the sale of preloved donated goods.

Our Retail volunteer teams are vital to the success of our shops.

As we begin to open our shops we'd love your help with some or all of the following:

  • Providing excellent and reassuring customer service including using tills.
  • Cleaning surfaces and ensuring a safe physical environment for you, our customers and staff.
  • Quarantining then sorting, processing and steam cleaning stock as it arrives from our customers or warehouse.
  • Arranging imaginative and attractive merchandising and window displays.
  • Welcoming customers into the store and supporting social distancing.

We expect that you will have some questions about joining us at this time and want to briefly describe what we’re doing to keep you and everyone safe. You will receive more detailed information and guidance when you start in your role.

In line with Government Guidance our shops will be a COVID secure environment, this means the following:

  • We have carried out a COVID-19 risk assessment and will share the result of this with you before you start your volunteering.
  • We have cleaning, handwashing and hygiene procedures in line with government guidance.
  • We have taken all reasonable steps to maintain a 2m distance within the shops.
  • Where people cannot be 2m apart, we have done everything practical to manage transmission risk.
  • We will provide you with PPE where appropriate, including face masks and sneeze screens on our tills.
  • If you are in the extremely clinically vulnerable or shielded group we will not be able to offer you a role until we feel it is safe to do so.
  • If you are aged 70 and over, we will undertake an individual risk assessment with you to ensure you can volunteer with us safely.

Join our friendly teams, meet new people, learn useful work skills and feel great about supporting our patient care.
