Milestones Trust is a health and social care charity supporting people with learning disabilities, mental health needs and complex needs. The Trust provides residential, nursing and community support services to around 750 people living in the Bristol, South Gloucestershire, and North Somerset areas.
A man that we support in one of our homes in the Henleaze area is looking for a volunteer to help him write up his views on political issues and to gather previous writings to put up on to a blog.
Can you help?
We are looking for volunteers who are compassionate and patient with good social skills and who share similar interests as the person we support. Ideally this would be a weekly or fortnightly volunteer role, or as often as volunteers are able to commit. We provide a thorough induction, and support to volunteers throughout their role, however, a knowledge of autism would be advantageous.
We can cover travel and some activity expenses.
For all our volunteer roles a DBS check will be carried out and we will request two references. All volunteers can attend an in-person volunteer induction and we offer online training alongside this. You will be supported by both the volunteer team and a member of staff in the service too.
Please get in touch if you are interested in this role and would like to receive a volunteer application form to fill out.
