About the Role
We're looking for creative and enthusiastic Art Facilitators to support adults with learning disabilities and mental health needs through engaging art activities. This role is a wonderful opportunity to share your artistic skills, introduce new techniques, and encourage people to express themselves creatively.
Many of the people we support are already passionate artists, and regular creative sessions help them continue developing their talents, confidence, and individuality. As an Art Facilitator, you'll play an important role in nurturing creativity and supporting artistic progression in a welcoming and inclusive environment.
What you'll be doing:
- Delivering or supporting fun and engaging art sessions
- Introducing new artistic techniques, materials, and creative ideas
- Encouraging self-expression and individual creativity
- Supporting people to develop their existing artistic skills and interests
- Creating a positive and inclusive environment where everyone feels encouraged to participate
- Celebrating and recognising participants' artistic achievements
What we're looking for:
- Experience or interest in art, crafts, or creative activities
- A passion for encouraging creativity and self-expression
- Lots of creative ideas and a willingness to share them
- A patient, positive, and encouraging approach
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliability and enthusiasm for supporting others to achieve their potential
This is a rewarding opportunity to share your creativity while helping people develop confidence, skills, and a sense of achievement through art. Whether you're a practicing artist, art student, hobbyist, or simply someone who loves creativity, we'd love to hear from you.
As with all our volunteer roles, a DBS check will be required, and we will request two references. Volunteers will also need to complete our online or in-person training before starting their role. Ongoing support will be available from both the volunteer team and a designated member of staff within the service.
Support Provided
