The Session

Raise the Saddle happens every Monday 6-9pm so come and join us for some do it together fixing! The aim of Raise the saddle is to create a space for women, non binary and trans folk to learn, fix, teach, socialise and help each other. We believe that it is important to create this dedicated space, as well as encouraging folk to participate in the wider BBP community

Raise the Saddle volunteers are:

  • women, trans, non-binary people;
  • Passionate about empowerment and inclusion;
  • Committed to our Safe Space Commitment;
  • Excited to work as part of a diverse team; and,
  • Keen to learn new skills to share with others.

Working relationships:

You would work as part of a volunteer team, supported by the session coordinators and the volunteer coordinator.

Specific Duties and responsibilities: 

  • Working with customers to fix their own bikes with support from the RTS coordinator;
  • Helping set up and pack down the space;
  • General housekeeping in the Community Workshop to keep it clean and tidy;
  • Contributing to a warm and welcoming environment for all; and,
  • Following Bristol Bike Project policies and procedures when volunteering, these are available in the Volunteer Handbook on the website.
