What is a Food Club?
Food Clubs provide low cost healthy food to people at risk of food insecurity. They help members save money while reducing food waste across Bristol.
Food Clubs rely on volunteers to keep running, so we can continue to improve life chances and benefit the wellbeing of local families.
What would I be doing?
We are looking for drivers to collect from local supermarkets and suppliers (this will usually be on Thursday evenings) and then bring their food to the Haven, which will be open to receive these delevires on Thursday evenings. You can do as many or as few collections as you would like and if you are able to offer any time to help us organise the deliveries on a Thursday evening that would also be greatly appreciated.
When: Most of the pick ups will happen on a Thursday evening (after 7.30pm).*
Who can volunteer:
Anyone aged 18+ with a valid driving liscene and access to a car — no experience needed.
Getting started:
No formal interview — just a friendly chat. We can help with any forms and offer a trial period so you can try it out pressure-free.
Accessibility:
We adapt tasks and routines to suit you, offer quiet spaces if needed, and you’re welcome to bring a support worker or buddy.
👉 Interested? Drop in for a chat or contact Josie at josie@flourishbsgc.org.uk
*We may be able to co-ordinate drop-off and pick up at other times when the Haven is open, including Friday mornings
