What is a Food Club?
Food Clubs provide low cost healthy food to people at risk of food insecurity. They help members save money while reducing food waste across Bristol.
Food Clubs rely on volunteers to keep running, so we can continue to improve life chances and benefit the wellbeing of local families.
What would I be doing?
We are looking for Friendly volunteers to support our Friday afternoon Food Club, including set up, serving and tidy up. You will be helping to create a welcoming and supportive environment for those accessing the Food Club. This will include being a friendly face as you serve clients, explain to clients the process of using the project if it’s their first time, offer any advice or support about the food, and signpost them to the Food Club Support Worker where necessary.
When: Food Club runs on Fridays 12-2pm
We are looking for volunteers to help out between 11am and 2.30pm.
You choose how often — weekly, fortnightly or occasionally.
Who can volunteer:
Anyone aged 16+ — no experience needed. We welcome everyone, including people with learning disabilities, neurodiversity, mental or physical health conditions. We’ll match tasks to what feels comfortable for you.
Getting started:
No formal interview — just a friendly chat. We can help with any forms and offer a trial period so you can try it out pressure-free.
Accessibility:
We adapt tasks and routines to suit you, offer quiet spaces if needed, and you’re welcome to bring a support worker or buddy.
