Sue Ryder is here to make sure everyone approaching the end of life or living with grief can access the support they need. There is no one size fits all when it comes to how we cope and the help we need, but with our support, no one has to face dying or grief alone. We are there when it matters through our 7 hospices, Grief Kind spaces and online counselling and bereavement services.
We are newly reopened shop and we are looking to find friendly people who are looking to join a growing volunteering team whilst helping to raise much needed funds for those who use our services.
There are a variety of roles in the shop to try and plenty of opportunities to make the shop and your role your own.
The Role – Charity Shop Volunteer
You will help us to:
- Receive donations from our supporters
- Help to sort, label and price our items before sale
- Welcome, Greet and help our customers
- Serve customers on the till (full training provided)
- Create wonderful shop displays, re-stock our items on the shop floor
- Light cleaning/tidying duties to keep the shop inviting and well presented
We are happy to reimburse reasonable travel expenses.
We are an inclusive charity and welcome all people with differing abilities and support needs.
Please note - we do have a minimum age requirement in our shops of 18
Volunteering is fully flexible to you and no two days are the same, you could be busy processing donations, making amazing window displays or serving our customers on the till, if you like variety we have it!
You don’t need any experience to join us as a volunteer, you just need to be willing and helpful with a flexible and enthusiastic approach. Full training is provided and we can be flexible around your availability.
In return for your enthusiasm, you will have the opportunity to be part of a wonderful team, gain new skills and experience, and most importantly contribute towards making a difference to our service users and their families.
