This fun and welcoming event is focused on nature and food, and will bring people together from all sections of our community.
We’ll have a guided Nature Detectives walk around the estate – especially attractive to families with children – identifying birds, plants, trees and flowers, and spotting bugs, insects and butterflies.
The walk will be followed by a community picnic with foods from different cultures/cuisines (with lots of vegetarian, vegan and gluten free choices). We’ll have very large waterproof picnic blankets on the open grassy area in front of Kingsweston House (accessible toilets are available in the house/café).
There will also be plenty of safe traffic free space for kids to run around and play together.
Well behaved dogs on leads will be welcome at the event.
Accessibility information
It will be a free, welcoming & open to everyone community picnic in the forest/open space of Kingsweston House Estate. This event is particularly family/child friendly focused, and well behaved dogs on leads will also be welcome!
There is access to free car parking and toilets. (We’ll speak with the owner of Kingsweston House – who is very supportive of community groups and events on his land – prior to the event to allow access to fully accessible toilet facilities in the house/café).
There is a mostly flat and accessible circular path which is paved/compacted earth, and is wheelchair accessible with a little bit of determination in one or two areas!
We will use ¾ of this circular path, avoiding a rocky and slopping section near “The Echo”
