Neighbours Connect is a project designed to enable re-connection within the Southmead community for members who might be experiencing loneliness for any manner of reasons.

As a volunteer you will be paired with a participant based on your shared interests and what you'd like to do to help.  You might support someone to attend a local group, appointment, help them with shopping or just regularly go round for a cuppa and a chat.  Candidates will need to be reliable, understanding and good communicators.

You will be fully supported by us whilst you are lone working and we will carry out regular check ins with you where any concerns can be discussed.  You will need to attend an initial training session and allow us to carry out a DBS and reference checks on you.  Further learning opportunities will also be offered along with invites to socials where you will get to meet our other volunteers.  As well as the person you're supporting, you too will hopefully gain a sense of community too.  References can be provided after six months of volunteering.  We look forward to hearing from you.
