At Reconstuct, we match Independent Volunteers to Young People and Children within foster families or in residential care.
Independent Volunteers are adults who voluntarily offer support to children and young people who are living with a foster family or in residential care.
They are separate from social services.
They are there to build a trusting, positive relationship.
Make a lasting difference to the life of a child or young person. A Independent Volunteer would take out their match once a month for a minimum of 2 years to do fun activies or learn a life skill like;
- Sports
- Play football
- Cinema
- Bowling
- Go to the libary
- Talk about life choices
- Support education
- Discuss an offer support for future career opportunities
- Teach life skills
An independent volunteer is a positive role-model.
Develop a long-term trusting relationship.
