Do you love gardening and want to make a real difference?
We’re looking for a passionate volunteer to help landscape and maintain the garden at one of our registered mental health residential homes in Southville. This is a chance to create a beautiful outdoor space that brings joy and calm to the people who live here.
One of the people we support is keen to get involved with gardening tasks, so this role is not just about plants—it’s about connection and shared experiences.
What will you be doing?
- Planning and creating flower beds and a potential vegetable patch
- Planting and maintaining the garden
- Working alongside the people we support when they’d like to join in
If you’re hands-on, creative, and enjoy seeing the results of your work bloom, this is a fantastic opportunity to use your skills for good.
When?
Ideally one day fortnightly or monthly, depending on what needs doing. We’re flexible and can work around your availability.
What’s in it for you?
- Make a positive impact in a mental health service
- Share your love of gardening
- Travel expenses covered
- We’ll liaise with you about tools and materials
- Full support from our volunteer team and service staff
As with all our volunteer roles, a DBS check will be required, and we will request two references. Volunteers will also need to complete our online or in-person training before starting their role. Ongoing support will be available from both the volunteer team and a designated member of staff within the service.
You can apply for this role several ways :
1) Apply online – please note this is a general application form, please specify the role you are applying for.
2) Fill out a word application form (standard or easy read) - please email us for a copy of this.
