Milestones Trust is a health and social care charity supporting people with learning disabilities, mental health needs and dementia. The Trust provides residential, nursing and community support services to around 750 people living in the Bristol, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset areas.
We are looking for a volunteer who loves gardening to help maintain the garden of our residential nursing home in Kingswood. This is a great opportunity to make a difference to the lives of the people living in these homes, all who enjoy sitting outside and spending time in the garden.
Can you help?
If you are a hands-on person and are looking to make a difference by utilising your skills this would be a great opportunity for you and we would really appreciate your help. Tasks will include trimming bushes, hedges, general tidying and weeding as well as painting fences.
The role would ideally be one day fortnightly or monthly depending what you are working on ad what needs doing. The day can be flexible to suit you.
We can cover travel expenses and will liaise about what gardening tools and materials are needed.
For all of our volunteer roles a DBS check will be carried out and two references will be taken up. All volunteers can attend a volunteer induction and will be supported by both the volunteer team and a member of staff in the service too.
