Milestones Trust is a health and social care charity which supports people with learning disabilities, mental health needs and people living with dementia. The services are provided through a network of residential/nursing care homes and supported living homes throughout the Bristol and South Gloucestershire areas.
We are looking for a volunteer who loves gardening to help maintain the gardens across two of our residential nursing homes in Kingswood. This is a great opportunity to make a difference to the lives of the people living in these homes, all who enjoy sitting outside and spend lots of time in the garden.
If you are a hands-on person and are looking to make a difference by utilising your skills this would be a great opportunity for you and we would really appreciate your help. Both the gardens need some TLC. Tasks will include trimming bushes, hedges, general tidying and weeding as well as painting fences and shed doors.
The role would ideally be one day fortnightly or monthly depending what you are working on ad what needs doing. The day can be flexible to suit you.
We can cover travel expenses and will liaise about what gardening tools are needed.
Please note, for all of our volunteer roles a DBS check will be carried out and references will be taken up. All volunteers have a volunteer induction before starting the role and will be supported by both the volunteer team and a member of staff in the service too.
Please get in touch if you would like more information. If you are interested in applying, we will email you an application form for the role.
