Our Organisation
Bristol Tree Craft is a young, dynamic C.I.C. which tackles social isolation and strengthens community by bringing people in Bristol’s most deprived areas together to learn traditional woodwork. We run free-to-access group sessions in local natural spaces, making personalised items out of fresh wood using only hand tools. Inclusivity and empowerment are at our core: we work closely with other locally rooted-community organisations to reach our participants, facilitate their access to green space and foster their agency through learning heritage craft. We work primarily with NEET youth, refugees/asylum seekers and those accessing mental health support services, always seeking to address our four core outcomes:
- Supporting good choices, employment & training
- Combatting social isolation
- Providing access to nature
- Tackling poor mental health
What are we looking for?
Bristol Tree Craft is seeking a Finance Trustee to take a lead on managing accounts, bookkeeping, forecasting and budgeting. The ideal volunteer would contribute a day’s worth of flexible hours per month on an ongoing basis. They would be available for quarterly meetings (ideally face-to-face in Bristol, though this can be remote). We’re looking for someone with prior experience of financial management (though not necessarily in the charity sector) and a strong understanding of budgeting & business planning. You would become a valued part of our friendly and driven team, be invited to social events, and help drive our project to bring better support to people who need it most.
