Milestones Trust is a health and social care charity supporting people with learning disabilities, mental health needs and dementia. The Trust provides residential, nursing and community support services to around 750 people living in the Bristol, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset areas.
A person we support in one of our Supported Living services is having difficulty taking her lovely dog for walks each day, and we are looking for a volunteer who can support her with this on a weekday, ideally on a weekly basis, in the Horfield area.
Can you help?
The dog is a small, friendly, one year old who loves going out for walks. The person we support who looks after the dog would love to find someone accompany her on walks with her dog, helping motivate her to care for the dog, get lots of exercise and to have a good chat in the process.
Dog walking experience is not essential for this role, but confidence and experience of owning or being around dogs would be beneficial.
We can cover travel expenses.
Please note, for all of our volunteer roles a DBS check will be carried out and references will be taken up. A risk assessment is in place for the role which we will ask the volunteer to sign before they start.
Please get in touch if you are interested or would like further information, we would love to hear from you.
