About the Role
We're looking for a friendly and creative Crochet Volunteer to support adults with mental health needs through enjoyable crochet sessions. This role is a fantastic opportunity to encourage creativity, build confidence, and help residents develop new skills in a welcoming and supportive environment.
What you'll be doing:
- Leading or assisting with crochet sessions for residents
- Supporting individuals to learn and develop crochet skills at their own pace
- Encouraging participation, creativity, and self-expression
- Promoting social interaction and building positive relationships within the group
- Helping to create a relaxed, inclusive, and enjoyable atmosphere
What we're looking for:
- Crochet skills and confidence in teaching or supporting others to learn
- A patient, friendly, and approachable nature
- Good communication and listening skills
- Reliability and enthusiasm for helping others
- Confidence working with people with a range of mental health needs
- An interest in creativity, wellbeing, and community involvement

As with all our volunteer roles, a DBS check will be required, and we will request two references. Volunteers will also need to complete our online or in-person training before starting their role. Ongoing support will be available from both the volunteer team and a designated member of staff within the service.
