Volunteer Opportunity in Bishopston – Make a Meaningful Connection!

Milestones Trust is a health and social care charity supporting people with learning disabilities, mental health needs and complex behavioural needs. The Trust provides residential, nursing and supported living services to over 500 people living in Bristol, South Gloucestershire, North Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire.

Are you friendly, sociable, and looking to make a positive impact? A fun-loving and independent individual we support in our Bishopston supported living service is looking for a volunteer to join him for relaxed, social activities in the community.

Activities might include: visiting local cafés, going for walks, bowling or playing golf, shopping trips, going to the gym, cooking together, watching TV and chatting

He’s keen to meet someone who shares similar interests and can help him continue exploring and enjoying his community.

Time commitment: Ideally once a week during the day at weekends, but we’re happy to be flexible to suit your availability.

What we offer: Travel expenses reimbursed for every volunteering shift, any activity-related costs will be discussed with the individual and service, a warm welcome and ongoing support from our team

Interested in making a new connection and doing something meaningful? Get in touch—we’d love to hear from you!

For all our volunteer roles a DBS check will be carried out and we will request two references. All volunteers will need to complete online volunteer training in preparation for your role. You will be supported by both the volunteer team and a designated member of staff in the service too.

You can apply for this role several ways :

  • Apply online – please note this is a general application form, please specify the role you are applying for.
  • Fill out a word application form (standard or easy read) - please email us for a copy of this.
  • Give us a ring and we can take down your details.
