Media co-creation

We are part of the Bylines Network, a nonprofit publisher with ten publications across different parts of the UK. At West England Bylines we work with citizen journalists to tell the stories that are missing from with wider media, from Bristol-focused news to region-wide, national and even international news, with a distinctly West England slant. We aim to give a voice to minority groups who are under-represented or misrepresented elsewhere. We speak truth to power and, through work like our ongoing Sewage Watch project, help to bring about positive change.

We are IMPRESS-regulated and have a strong reputation - our work has often been mentioned in parliament. Our writers, editors, proofreaders, cartoonists, photographers, videographers, social media experts and tech specialists are supported by a professional team, and we aim to educate our volunteers while helping them to continually improve the quality of their work. If you're looking for a career in media or a related field, we're a great place to start. If you've retired and are just looking for something interesting to do in your spare time, we have room for you too.
