Volunteer Coordinator

As the Volunteer Coordinator for St Monica Trust, I am responsible for recruiting, supporting and developing our volunteer community across all sites. I work closely with colleagues, residents, and external partners to identify where volunteers can make a meaningful difference and ensure they feel welcomed, valued and engaged in their role. My work includes managing the full volunteer journey — from enquiry and onboarding to training, placement and ongoing support. I create a positive and inclusive volunteering experience, matching individuals to roles that make best use of their skills, interests and availability while enriching life for residents and contributing to our organisational values. I also build relationships with local schools, universities, and community groups to promote volunteering opportunities, coordinate placements and champion intergenerational engagement. By ensuring volunteers are well-supported and recognised, I help foster a culture of community, social connection and wellbeing within our retirement villages and care settings. In essence, my role is to enable volunteers to thrive — creating opportunities for people to contribute, connect, and make a meaningful impact across the Trust.
