We are the largest secondary school in Bristol serving every postcode across the city.
We are an ambitious, successful, and heavily oversubscribed 11-18 co-educational, Church of England, comprehensive school of just under 1800 students, serving families from the whole of greater Bristol and beyond. We are located at the heart of the city and have a truly diverse student community with considerable parental support. Our diversity is a strength and something we celebrate. The Redcliffe Sixth Form Centre houses about 700 students taken from our own school and many other schools across the City. We serve every postcode in the city.
Our Christian ethos is at the centre of our distinctiveness and success. We serve famillies and communities of all faiths and none. We have an immensely talented and dedicated staff body who are passionate about our students and developing the skills, knowledge and Alive qualities so that all our students can make their unique contribution to the world.
Since 2023 we have partnerted with the Reach Foundation and have now established a Cradle to Career Hub called BS1 Alive. We are updating our school website to provide more information about BS1 Alive. In the meantime, please follow this link to find out more about the Reach Foundations Cradle to Career model https://www.reachfoundation.uk/c2c.
Through our BS1 Alive Hub we work to collaborate to transform the life chances of young people and communities in BS1 and beyond through our five pillars:
1. Health - Every child has a nutritional diet daily and develops positive well-being—physically, mentally and emotionally
2. Academic and Pastoral Achievement - Every child is challenged and supported by great teaching and a rigorous curriculum
3. Hope, Purpose and Pathways - Every child is free from harm and enjoys secure, nurturing, positive experiences that equip them to make their unique contribution to the world
4. Community - Every child has strong peer and familial/familial equivalent relationships and engages positively with their local community(ies)
5. Faith - Supporting intergenerational faith development and strategic partnerships between educational settings and church communities
By October 2025 our website will be updated with a BS1 Alive area.
