About
Senior Lecturer in Farming Systems
I am a Senior Lecturer in Farming Systems at UWE Bristol and a member of the UK Food Standards Agency’s Advisory Committee for Social Science. My research focuses on systems thinking, equity, and inclusive governance in agri-food policy, with a particular interest in just transitions, land use change, and community-led food systems. I have held an ESRC Policy Innovation Fellowship at the Wales Centre for Public Policy (2023–2025), where I explored approaches to integrating lived experience into policy research and knowledge mobilisation. I am also the Just Transitions and Citizen Engagement Champion for the Agri-Food for Net Zero Network+, facilitating dialogue between policymakers, landowners, and grassroots actors to ensure more equitable and ecologically grounded decision-making. My work spans participatory research, policy analysis, and interdisciplinary collaborations across food safety, modern slavery prevention, voluntary carbon markets, and sustainable supply chains. Driven by the belief that transformative change in food systems must be both people-centred and place-based, my work seeks to bridge the gap between academic research, policy, and the lived realities of communities shaping their own food and land futures.
