Mothers for Mothers is a registered charity, and for 45 years we have been supporting women and their families who have maternal mental illness or emotional wellbeing needs; from pregnancy up to until the youngest child of the family attends school.
We are all women who have lived experience of maternal mental illness offering a confidential, non-judgemental friendly peer support service.
You can access our services via our REACH Helpline: 0117 935 9366 open Monday to Friday 10am to 9pm.
We have many different Peer Support Groups to choose from: walk and talk group or an in-venue group where mothers can attend with their babies and pre-school age children. These are safe spaces to make friends, have a cup of tea and a chat with other mothers, or to speak with one of our peer support team or our play support worker.
We also have a Zoom Peer Support Groups for anyone who is unable to travel or who does not feel confident enough yet to attend face to face.
We offer Support Calls for those needing 1:1 telephone support.
Our Antenatal Wellbeing in pregnancy group also meet weekly on Zoom.
On occasions throughout the year we come together for events and trips.
Our home visitors can arrange visits at home or a place of choice to give one to one support. We will listen and help decide how we can best we can support the family.
We have SEND Support for both parents and children with neurodiverse needs and support.
Our Counselling Service is a safe, non-judgemental and compassionate service designed to help women make sense of experiences and face current challenges or difficult feelings.
Our services work together to provide peer support to reduce isolation and loneliness, help improve wellbeing, and support people to enjoy healthy relationships and to feel confident to be part of their local community.
