My educational background includes a BSc in Chemistry and a MSc in Toxicology. I graduated from the University of the West Indies with Upper second class for chemistry in 2008 and the University of Birmingham with Merit for toxicology in 2024.
I have years of experience, working in the lab, GLP and GMP. I owned and operated my own business for over 10 years.
I have skills, in project management, time management, business management, laboratory protocol, COSHH forms, regulations and risk management, team management, ADME, HPLC, NAMs, GS, MS plus many other skills.
My base skill-set centres around water chemistry, marine biology, ecosystem design, and now, most recently advancement in the area of toxicology, developed through my work experience and studies.
As the founder of Aquatechjamaica, I successfully operated an aquatic supply business for over a decade, using my understanding of aquatic species, ecosystems, and water quality management and analysis to maintain sustainable environments for all aquatic organisms.
My MSc Toxicology thesis investigated the acute toxicity and behavioural responses of Daphnia to chemical and microplastic toxicants. This research contributes to a limited, but significant body of literature in ecotoxicology and the implications for aquatic ecosystems, the worldwide use of popular insecticides/pesticides and impact on the food chain and future science.
