About

Impact measurement & evaluation

I'm Lucy. I'm 34 years old and I live in St Paul's with my husband. I work as a freelance impact measurement and evaluation specialist with charities and social mission led organisations.

I grew up in a village just outside Bristol, and after 10 years living away from the South West, I'm really pleased to be back and putting down roots in the city I call home.

Some of the things I love

  • Food - all the cuisines, amazing places to eat and cooking at home
  • Travel - everywhere, I want to see everything!
  • Being in nature, walking in woods and along water and watching wildlife
  • Pretty bakeries and cakes
  • Interior design - my creative outlet
  • Watching people laugh - there's nothing that lifts the mood more
  • Politics - the substance of policy not the party political game playing!
  • Contemporary art - particularly with social themes I can quietly wrap my head around
  • Staffordshire bull terriers - the most underated and misunderstood breed of dog

Issues that are important to me

  • Social justice - breaking down barriers to create fairness and equity across neighbourhoods and communities, especially for those who are marginalised and minoritized
  • Young people - lifting them up and giving them agency, they are our future!
  • Women's rights - I'm a proud member of the infertility club and this experience has opened my eyes to gener inequity in a big way
  • Climate change - Curious to learn more, do more and be better
  • Conservation - I feel really sad about the state of our planet
  • The built environment - planning and architecture

Skills & personality traits

  • Authenticity is an important value of mine. I'm an open book, approachable and love meeting and getting to know new people. I love working with and collaborating with people
  • I'm an analytical person, I like logic and structure but I'm not boxed in by these things
  • I'm a clear communicator and I can take complicated things and make them simple and easy for people to understand
  • I'm a visionary person, ambitious about the things that matter to me and I love inspiring people to work towards shared goals
  • I love learning, it's another value that's really central to how I live and work and I don't believe in failure, just lessons and teachings.
