I moved to Bristol a year ago and I have just graduated from Cardiff university with a BA in Chinese. I’ve always been interested in helping others, during Covid I trained to be a care worker and spent some time during the summer visiting the elderly. This mostly entailed providing physical healthcare to others but a big part of my reason for taking on the role was to be a companion to others. COVID made me realise how lonely life can be during lockdown and it occurred to me that this is the reality for a lot of the elderly, pandemic or no pandemic. In 2024 I cut off my hair and donated to the princess trust, I plan on donating again this year. I currently work at the Cow and Sow in Clifton full time but find myself with a fair amount of spare time on my hands and I have been considering volunteering for a while. I really don’t mind what I do, I’m up for anything.
