About

Mental Health Advocate, Author, Former executive in multi-national corporate, Champion of Kindness,

Hello! I'm Emma, nice to meet you :-)

I have just returned from Asia, having lived there for the past 16 years. To say these years were incredible, would be an understatement. In both my work, and outside of work, I travelled extensively around the region, and had the honour to come into contact with so many diverse cultures, and 3rd world countries who are desperately trying to uphold the stability of their economy, let alone grow it.

Throughout my life, I have been working for various different charities supporting victims of familial and domestic abuse, those with mental health challenges, neurodivergence and homelessness. It is my honour and greatest pleasure working with those overcoming challenges in their life, time and again I have been in awe of people's persistency and capacity for kindness despite being in the face of so much suffering. I am passionate about supporting others through crises that life throws at us.

At my core, I am a happy and bubbly person. I believe in the healing power of humour, as much as I believe in the healing powers of empathy, compassion and kindness. I am a natural problem solver, but as the years pass on, I recognise that sometimes, problems don't require solving; rather, they just need to sit for a while, and answers rise like opportunistic clouds of steam.

Curiosity propels me forward, the pursuit of understanding all has motivated me since I was a child. This extends mostly to the human-condition - who we evolve to become, and why, and when life throws us lemons, who can we call on for support?

That is my mission in life, to be there for others in times of need, to offer my support, empathy and kindness.

I have spent 20 years in corporate life - working across brand, public relations, customer experience and customer service, digital marketing, risk and governance, operational excellence and business strategy. As a member of both senior management and executive council, I have been instrumental in devising growth strategies for the businesses I worked in.

In my spare time, I am a writer, a prolific reader(!), a yoga instructor, a runner (very bad one!), and from time to time I sink myself into days of embroidery projects. I would happily spend every waking hour cooking - I love creating dishes, experimenting, and reveling in successful dishes and laughing at the disasters!

I won't waffle any more about me! :-)
