Royal Voluntary Service - Bristol Home Library Service
Bristol Home Library Service helps keep adults in Bristol connected with their library, especially adults who find it difficult to access the library due to age, disabling conditions or caring responsibilities. We ask our volunteers to visit at least once a month to: drop off new library books, pick up old ones, stay for a chat (if this is wanted.) You will be dealing with ordinary books, large print books or audio books. Your Reader may know exactly what they want, they may welcome recommendations from yourself or the library staff (always a good source of advice) or even pot luck picks. You just need to be: mobile, a people person, love books and reading, a caring person. You do not need to have a car despite what our website says. We have Readers waiting for volunteers across the city but in particular we are looking for some new volunteers able to visit individuals in Bedminster and the surrounding area.
