St Werburghs City Farm is a social environmental charity and community hub in inner-city Bristol. We use our unique nature sites as a launchpad for community projects that target people experiencing marginalisation, deprivation, and mental ill-health. Each year our community projects reach around 9,300 participants, and our free-to-enter urban farm welcomes over 60,000 visitors.
Our aims:
1. Improve health and wellbeing
2. Share skills and learning
3. Strengthen community
Who we work with:
1. Adults with mental health struggles or other challenges
2. Children and young people experiencing deprivation or struggling in school
3. Adults with learning disabilities
4. Marginalised communities who face barriers to the environmental sector and green spaces
What we do:
1. Work together to run a small Farm and care for urban nature sites
2. Grow skills and potential through training, education, and volunteering opportunities
3. Offer care-centred support groups in nature
4. Cook and share local food, and host community celebrations
5. Share knowledge and collaborate to strengthen city-wide networks.
We are working to create a future where communities thrive, green spaces flourish, and together we grow.
