You love Bristol and you want to make a difference?!  We are looking for a new person to join our team!!

We are looking for an admin wizz, a hotshot to help with our day to day running tasks, in other words an office administrator.

Clean Up Bristol Harbour Community Interest Company aims to encourage change in people’s behaviour for the benefit of the Harbour environment. We want to inspire the community to see the value in a clean harbour.

Our main activity consists of running a volunteering litter picking event around the Harbour every third Sunday of the month. Due to the high demands, we have started to trial custom based corporate litter picking events as well. We are also developing an educational programme. 

We are looking for a someone to help with:

  • Dealing with email enquiries
  • Keeping in contact with our various stakeholders and partners
  • Keeping up to date with what is happening within the community (events, what’s being talked about, etc)
  • Being in constant communication with the social media manager and the company directors relaying important, valuable information that are coming through our Inbox.
  • Overseeing and managing our kit and material needed for our monthly litter picks and corporate events
  • Able to attend some of our monthly Clean Up events
  • Keeping minutes during our monthly meetings
  • Managing and organising our Google drive

The ideal candidate would have the following skills:

  • Highly organised
  • Proactive, a self starter
  • A great communicator
  • Someone that can work as part of a team as well as work independently
  • Proficient with Google Suite
  • Experience using Mailchimp or similar platform

Being a newly registered Community Interest Company, we've learnt a lot about running a business in the last two years. That said, we are still running as a 100% volunteer organisation so this could be a great opportunity for someone interested in learning the background dynamics of running a business, or for someone who understands what a difference great admin skills bring to a community project.

The role is not set in stone and has room to grow, to shape into a position that would benefit the right candidate as well as benefiting Clean Up Bristol Harbour. As we operate on a voluntary basis we see it as a ‘50/50 thing’: we want everyone to feel that they are getting something back from the time and energy they are putting into the project.

We estimate the role would take about two to three hours a week.
