We currently have spaces available in the Hawthorn Project – a wellbeing group for self-identifying women aged 18+ who are experiencing mental health challenges including recovery from drug and alcohol use. Sessions run on Wednesdays during term time. A free minibus is provided from Central Bristol, leaving at 10:30am and returning at 3pm.
The group focuses on connecting with nature through grounding exercises, gentle woodland walks, learning new skills, and sharing a delicious meal around the fire in the round house.
The Hawthorn Project is a rolling programme, we ask participants to attend consistently to be offered a place the following term. Participants must be able to spend 4 hours outdoors and attend independently.
People can refer themselves or be referred by a professional. If you are working with someone who may be interested, please speak with them and complete the referral form. Tortworth Forest Centre is a beautiful arboretum in South Gloucestershire, near Wotton-Under-Edge, around 25 minutes north of Bristol. We improve lives by reconnecting people with nature through a range of opportunities.
