Volunteers needed for Winter Lights events in Barton Hill

We are looking for volunteers to help us at Winter Lights. The key tasks we need assistance with are:

• Saturday 25^th January 2025 – we are organising a community litter pick of the Urban Park so that it looks nice for the parade finale (Date TBC, but likely 25^th).  We are looking at making this a silent disco litter pick to make it more fun!  We’ll need a group of people for this so it’s an ideal team volunteering opportunity.  All equipment will be provided.
• Sunday 26^th January 2025 – stewarding opportunities at the event itself.  Volunteers will be in shifts and spread across the event site in order to assist event attendees on the day.  There will be 2 shifts available: 12.45pm – 3.30pm, and 3.15pm – 6.30pm.  This gives plenty of time for all Volunteers to watch events either before or after their shift.   Volunteer jobs could include being a lantern parade steward, front of house for events, checking event capacity numbers, helping in the event café, and assisting with event evaluation.  A full briefing will be given and there will be space to leave your things and grab refreshments during your shift.
