The wild city action team is the practical volunteering team for the My Wild City project.
The wild city action team works across 8 specific local wildlife sites within Bristol. The management work that we carry out aims to restore and conserve the rarest habitats like wildflower meadows and ancient woodlands, that contain a very diverse range of animals and plants.
The work is physical but everyone can work at their own pace, we want to inspire and connect people to nature through fun group activities where people can socialise, learn new skills and feel a sense of community. There is no official commitment to be made to attending every Tuesday and we will provide all training, tools and personal protective equipment.
The work varies depending on the season but may include scrub cutting, coppicing, scything grass, weed control, orchard management and step building.
The team operates every Tuesday, volunteers can either meet the team on site, or they can get a lift from Avon wildlife trust headquarters in Hotwells (32 Jacob's Wells road, BS81DR).
Please get in touch if you would like to volunteer with us, we would love to hear from you.
