Grow Wilder is an urban nature reserve and education centre in north Bristol, run by Avon Wildlife Trust.
As a weekend volunteer, you'll help us to welcome visitors to Grow Wilder, providing a warm and friendly reception. As well as helping serve refreshments from our outdoor cafe, you will help signpost visitors to different areas of the site and provide information about the different activities taking place here.
This role will include the following:
- Positive and informative engagement with the public
- Ensuring and maintaining high levels of cleanliness and hygiene in the café and adjoining seating areas
- Equipment safety demonstration & general Health & safety conscientious
- A good knowledge of the Grow Wilder site, and able to direct and advise visitors
Key skills:
- Experience or keen interest in a customer-facing hospitality or leisure role
- A keen interest in horticulture and/or wildlife friendly gardening and/or food growing
- An enthusiastic and organised approach to work
- Able to facilitate/ oversee small groups of volunteers
- A respect/care for equipment and resources on site
Induction & training:
Site induction which will include a health and safety briefing, tour of the Grow Wilder site & demonstration of key weekend procedures. Specific and in-depth training will be given throughout the season as required.
