Why we want you
This is a very rewarding role providing much-needed support to our service by literally keeping the wheels rolling. Based in one of our warehouses, the main element of the role is to clean and maintain our stock of wheelchairs and other mobility aids equipment. It also involves some inputting of data into our stock management system This is the ideal role for someone who is practical, enjoys fixing things and likes the satisfaction of providing a clean, safe piece of equipment ready for the next person.
What you will be doing
- Cleaning and maintaining our wheelchairs (and other mobility aids equipment)
- Assisting with loading/unloading wheelchair for delivery/collection/pop-ups
- Using a computer-based stock control system to update receipt of goods/service records/stock movements
- Signposting to other Red Cross services/provider (including the Mobility Aids Retail website)
- These are just some examples. You will work within a great team and be fully supported by the Volunteer Coordinator.
The skills you need
- Practical and can undertake cleaning/maintenance tasks.
- Physically fit and able to lift/move wheelchairs.
- IT-literate and able to complete on-line learning
- Able to commit to a regular shift on a weekly basis.
