On Saturday 22 March 2005, we Shine a Light on Care with a lamplight procession for carers, parents, mothers and all those who care for others. We walk for care to be visible, valued and supported.

The procession takes place on Saturday 22 March from 6:30PM - 8:30PM around St Nick's Market. Please join us from 6PM to meet one of our coordinator and pick up a placard.

We will walk as a group and be together - so if you come on your own, you will be surrounded by others coming together for the same cause.

We are looking for people to help us carry one of the 200+ placards & lanterns created by carers & caregivers who can’t join the procession due to caring responsibilities, health, or mobility restrictions.

Our lanterns were made with mothers, grandmothers and carers during many workshops in the last four months and the placards have been created as part of the Carers Strike project lead by the Invisible Army.

This will be a peaceful, beautiful and family-friendly event with performances, lanterns with women’s messages, large figurines wearing dresses printed with women’s messages, invitations to sing, finding and representing strength in togetherness.

This invitation to walk in solidarity, allyship and sisterhood is open to everyone. We have all experienced care giving or care receiving in our life, it is the linchpin of our society.
