We are recruiting new volunteers Mother Companions to join our inspiring team at Project MAMA!
We’re looking for Doulas, midwives, birth workers or anyone who has experience of supporting migrated, displaced or trafficked Mamas during pregnancy, birth, and the postnatal period.
What do Mother Companions do?
- They provide continuity of care during the perinatal period.
- Support and inform Mamas with their birth-related wishes & worries.
- Support a Mama to navigate the UK maternity system and make their-own informed choices.
- Volunteer to be a Mama’s birth partner if they would otherwise give birth alone.
- Offer companionship and emotional support as a Mama prepares for birth & adjusts to life with a new baby.
By volunteering with Project MAMA, you’ll provide parents facing complex challenges with vital support at a crucial time in their lives.
