We are looking for a volunteer to help support one of our disabled members in their involvement in the sport of Boccia
https://www.paulsplace.org.uk/what-we-do/boccia/
The role would involve meeting our member and taking him to Boccia training in Yate on a Tuesday and Thursday to help support him in this activity.
This would be a twice weekly commitment during the playing seasons, with the possibility of occasional weekends for tournaments or league competitions.
Expenses for travel will be reimbursed.
Ideally, we are hoping for a long-term commitment; and we are looking for someone who is friendly, empathetic, and outgoing with a keen interest in sport.
We will carry out an enhanced DBS check and references will be taken up. We will enquire about your vaccination status as people with underlying health conditions and disabilities are at high risk. As a Volunteer you will be in close contact with the people we support and are therefore considered a frontline worker. There will be a risk assessment in place for the role which we will ask the volunteer to sign before they start.
There will be some core online training, and some in person training including safeguarding and manual handling.
Please get in touch if you are interested or would like further information, we would love to hear from you.
