Fancy trying something new in 2022 for a few hours each week when you can? Our amazing shop floor volunteers are the first point of contact for customers. As a shop volunteer you will greet customers, help them find the furniture, electricals, books music or films they’re looking for and answer their questions where you can. The money you raise will go towards helping save lives from heart and circulatory diseases - every minute of your time you'll be helping save lives!

With lots of support from the Kingswood shop team, you'll keep the sales floor well-stocked and visually merchandised to raise funds for lifesaving research to beat heart disease, whilst promoting sustainable shopping and reuse culture.

Say hello to the team:

Funding for researchers begins at your local charity shop. Now, more than ever, we are in urgent need of volunteers to enable us to continue our life saving research and help the 7.6 million people in the UK living with heart and circulatory diseases. This wouldn’t be possible without our fantastic volunteers.

Our Kingswood team led by Luke, Jack and Billy are are looking forward to welcoming new volunteers to the team in 2022, and want to make the shop a fun, friendly place where people can meet, have fun and make a difference!

Typical tasks include:

· Helping customers on the shop floor & providing good all-round customer service

· Promoting our campaigns and any instore sales to customers

· Working on window and shop displays to make them look their best

· Keeping the shop tidy, clean and restocked – some light housekeeping

· Helping your fellow volunteers and staff with customer queries

You get a lot from volunteering too:

· A chance to work in a friendly team, make new friends & meet a diverse group

· The feel-good factor of helping the British Heart Foundation and your local community

· 25% volunteer discount on donated goods for volunteers

· The time to develop your confidence and interpersonal skills, and socialise

· The ability to gain valuable retail experience to add to your CV and learn new skills

· Flexible shifts to fit around your other commitments - 3 hours once a week is a huge help

· Reasonable travel reimbursed in agreement with the Managers

Please note - we are unable to accept volunteers aged under 16 and we cannot accept volunteers with unspent criminal convictions or who are subject to criminal registers/orders

Here's a little bit more about us:

The BHF are working towards a world free from the fear of heart and circulatory diseases. By 2030, we want to prevent these conditions from developing and for people with existing conditions to have better, longer lives.
