At Brandon Trust we are currently recruiting for a number Charity Shop Volunteers in Bristol and South Glos. We have a range of volunteer opportunities in our shops at Whiteladies Road, Cotham Hill, Gloucester Road, Bedminster and Chipping Sodbury.

Volunteering in our shops is open to everyone and no experience is required. You just need to be motivated, hardworking and enjoy being part of a team. So, if you’re looking for a new challenge, then we’d love you to get in touch.

There are different types of roles and activities you could get involved in at the shops and we have lots of different times available where we could use your help!

We will give you a full induction as well as ongoing training opportunities to make sure you feel fully confident and able to succeed in your volunteering role.

Volunteer shop floor duties include:

  • Serving customers, taking cash at the till
  • Helping customers with questions
  • Putting stock out and keeping the store looking tidy and inviting
  • Accepting donations from our customers and telling them about Gift Aid
  • Dressing and designing window displays
  • Talking with customers about Brandon Trust and the wonderful work we do!

Volunteer stockroom duties include:

  • Sorting donations dropped into store
  • Ensuring we Gift-Aid donations where required
  • Sorting unsuitable items ready for recycling
  • Helping to manage/maintain the sorting area
  • Hanging, ticketing and steaming stock
  • Cleaning and processing any non-clothing stock

We value our volunteer team and want you to be fully involved in our day-to-day tasks so we will provide you with the opportunities to best suit your skills and interests that you feel comfortable with.

I’m interested. What difference will I make if I volunteer for Brandon Trust?

Money raised from our charity shop is used to create job opportunities for people we support. The more money we make in our stores, the more job roles we can create for people with autism and learning disabilities. Volunteering with us means that you are directly supporting that so we can raise more money and create more job opportunities for the people we support. You can read more about us here www.brandontrust.org

What other qualities do you need from me?

We need you to be friendly and welcoming and willing to be part of the team and to learn new skills and ask for help when you need it. We’d also like you to turn up for your volunteering times, or let your manager know if you can’t make it that day. You will be supportive of the work we do at Brandon Trust and the people we support, some of whom will be working or volunteering in the shop with you.

Sounds great. What will I get from volunteering with Brandon Trust?

· The feel-good factor of knowing that you are contributing to helping more people with learning disabilities and autism gain employment
