Volunteer Non-Executive Director
Community Interest Company (CIC)
Purpose
To provide independent oversight, strategic guidance and good governance, supporting the CIC to achieve its social mission while ensuring it remains financially sustainable and compliant with its legal responsibilities.
Commitment
• Volunteer position
• Approximately 4-6 hours per month
• Attend quarterly Board meetings
• Attend the Annual General Meeting
• Provide occasional advice and support between meetings
Key Responsibilities
• Contribute to the strategic direction of the CIC.
• Ensure the organisation remains focused on its charitable and community objectives.
• Support good governance and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Review financial performance and help ensure the CIC remains financially sustainable.
• Support funding applications by providing strategic oversight where appropriate.
• Act as an ambassador for the CIC and promote its work within the community.
• Contribute ideas, knowledge and professional expertise.
• Participate in Board discussions and decision making.
• Ensure decisions are made in the best interests of the CIC and its beneficiaries.
