We are looking for a qualified hairdresser to run a free drop-in session for women using our services. These sessions would take place in our office in Clifton, and would help to support the work that we do by providing an enjoyable activity for women who are living in our accommodation.
This is a new role, so we are happy to work on what this would look like with you. We would love to be able to offer this on a regular basis (fortnightly or monthly), but we would also be happy to hear from people who can only offer this as a one off event.
Attributes and qualifications needed:
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 Diploma in Hairdressing
- Confident working with a variety of hair types and styles.
- Communication skills and listening skills
- Compassionate, empathetic and non-judgemental
- Ability to adhere to Missing Link's trauma-informed principles, safeguarding policy, and confidentiality policy.
- Your own mobile hairdressing equipment
Tasks will involve providing basic hairdressing services such as:
- Trimming and cutting hair
- Blow-drying and styling
This role is perfect for some who wants:
- An introduction into the charity sector (particularly in homelessness, mental health, domestic abuse and sexual abuse)
- To learn more about the work that we do and the people we support.
- To make a difference and help create a sense of normalcy and safety for our service-users.
Additional Requirements
- Basic DBS check
- Two references.
- Agreement to follow our Volunteer Policy.
Travel expenses can be provided (in line with our Volunteer Expenses Policy).
