About Us:
Hope Against Suicide is committed to bridging the gap in mental health support by providing compassionate, face-to-face assistance to individuals in crisis. We work to alleviate the feelings of loneliness and hopelessness that can lead to devastating outcomes, and we are dedicated to raising awareness and driving change.

Role Overview:

As a Volunteer Event Assistant, you will play a crucial role in planning and executing a variety of events designed to raise funds and awareness for our cause. This role offers a unique opportunity to channel your creativity and organisational skills while gaining valuable experience in event management. Events can be absolutely anything, from teaming up with other charities and businesses, attending organised events, planning events around Bristol. Online or in person with the goal of spreading awareness and fundraising.

The role will be part remote, the majority can be done from home and flexibly, however it would be great if you are able to attend the events with the support of the rest of our volunteers.

Key Responsibilities:

Event Planning: Assist in the development and planning of fundraising and awareness events, including brainstorming ideas, creating timelines, and coordinating logistics.

Event Management: Support the execution of events, ensuring everything runs smoothly. This may involve setting up venues, managing guest lists, and overseeing on-the-day operations.

Coordination: Collaborate with our team and other volunteers to ensure all aspects of the event are covered, from pre-event preparation to post-event follow-up.

Outreach: Engage with potential sponsors, vendors, and participants to build relationships and secure support for our events.

Creative Input: Contribute to event themes, promotional materials, and marketing strategies to maximise impact and reach.

What We Offer:

Experience: Gain hands-on experience in event planning and management within a supportive and passionate team.

Flexibility: Opportunity to work partly from home with the chance to attend and manage events in person.

Impact: Be a part of a mission-driven organisation dedicated to improving mental health and preventing suicide.

Support: Receive guidance and support from our experienced volunteers and team members throughout your role.

What We’re Looking For:

Passion: A genuine interest in mental health and a desire to make a difference.

Organisational Skills: Strong ability to manage multiple tasks and stay organised under pressure.

Creativity: Innovative ideas and enthusiasm for developing engaging and impactful events.

Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with others and communicate effectively.

Reliability: Dependability and commitment to the role and responsibilities.
