Food on our doorstep (FOOD) clubs provide good-quality food at a low price, whilst also reducing food clubs.
For just £1 per year, members can then buy a bag of food items worth £10-15 per week for just £3.50.
We have 9 FOOD clubs in Bristol and staff and volunteers run these popular weekly sessions in community venues.
As a FOOD club volunteer you will be offered training (including accredited food hygiene training), supervision, references and a chance to volunteer for a national charity in your local community.
Our volunteers told us they value the following:
- positive effect on my wellbeing
- meeting other FOOD Club staff/volunteers
- feeling valued and part of a team
- helping the environment
- gaining new skills
- increasing my confidence
- giving something back (e.g. having been a FOOD Club member previously)
- improving my employment prospects
