Can’t Sit Still is looking for volunteer assistants for creative groups for autistic girls and non-binary young people.

You will work alongside a team of 2 professional arts facilitators to run weekly creative groups for autistic girls and non-binary young people, aged between 11-16 years old.

Tasks may include:

- helping organise creative activities (including set up and packing away).

- helping participants to complete the activities, working on a one-to-one basis.

- talking with group participants and helping them feel comfortable.

- setting out refreshments.

- contributing feedback to the group facilitators.

You will be supported in your role by the group facilitators, the Being Me Project Manager and the Artistic Director and Company Manager of Can’t Sit Still. There is a small budget available for travel expenses.

The group will run in Kingswood on a Thursday evening at the Park Centre. You will need to be available from 6-9pm. They begin on Thursday 5th October and are currently due to finish at the end of March, though we hope this will be extended. We take breaks from the club in line with South Gloucestershire school holidays.

In order for the volunteers to be representative of the group participants, we are only accepting applications from women and non-binary people at this time. We strongly encourage applications from people who self identify as autistic and/or neurodivergent. If you have any access needs please let us know when you apply, so we can support you as best as we can in this role.

Please email a short letter (max. 500 words), audio file or video (max. 3 minutes length) explaining why you're interested in this role and what skills you bring to contact@cantsitstill.net. If you require further information please get in touch for an informal chat, prior to applying.

Closing date: 9am, Monday 25th September 2023.
