We are looking for volunteers to:
- accompany advocates on home visits,
- provide administrative support,
- help with marketing
- assist with advocacy drop-ins; and
- provide peer/citizen advocacy for less complex non-statutory cases.
No previous experience is necessary as full training wil be provided.
Skills you can develop are:
- Supporting people to get their voice heard
- Listening and communication
- Writing letters and reports
- Research
- Knowledge and understanding of mental health and learning difficulties.
As a volunteer you will be provided with the necessary equipment, paid out of pocket expenses and be given regular supervision and support. A Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check will be carried out.
We are looking for volunteers who can commit to a day a week - this can be split into 2 sessions if necessary.
