Description

The Matthew of Bristol Trust is seeking a Trustee with experience in community fundraising and engagement, who can build strong and productive relationships and communicate confidently with a wide range of audiences. You will be highly organised, collaborative and motivated, with the ability to inspire and grow our existing and new supporters.

You will also be able to work effectively as part of a proactive and supportive Board of Trustees, contributing ideas, enthusiasm and practical support to help achieve the Trust’s charitable objectives. 

We are looking for someone who:

  • Can take an active approach to exploring and managing fundraising events.
  • Can devise and help organise fundraising campaigns.
  • Can identify fundraising opportunities by researching potential funders.
  • Can assist the Board of Trustees with applications.
  • Has excellent communication skills – both verbal and written.
  • Has IT knowledge/experience – Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint), Mailchimp, databases, Survey Monkey, social media platforms.
  • Can collate and present statistical data.
  • Is a proactive team player.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Communication and Interpersonal Skills

  • Experienced in maintaining relationships and working with diverse groups of people.
  • Experienced in persuading, influencing and motivating others.
  • Has previously built professional relationships with donors, volunteers and the community.
  • Can prepare and deliver compelling presentations.
  • Can demonstrate capacity to collaborate with other Trustees, volunteers and staff effectively.


Creativity and Problem Solving

  • Experienced in developing fundraising ideas and solving problems with limited resources.


Organisation and Planning

  • Experienced in planning and managing projects to meet deadlines and financial targets.
  • Able to be persistent and handle setbacks.


Technical Skills

  • Can demonstrate good computer skills and knowledge of social platforms.
  • Good attention to detail, especially in administration and record keeping.
